Welcome, Beergeek is a one man shop run by a beer and web development geek with over 25 years of experience — in web development and beer! One a little more than the other. We can help you with the complex and the mundane in your brewery’s internet presence. Wether you are looking to expand your offerings or trying to fix a problem, we’ve probably seen that before and are available to help.

Services include:

Migration and Hosting Issues – Need to find a new host, we’ve been doing this for a long time, we can help find a robust, yet affordable host. We can even host it ourselves.

Hacking / Bug Mitigation – has your site been compromised or is it broken in some way, we can help.

Service Integration – have your beer list on Untappd or Beer Menus? We can set up a mirror of that list on your site that updates whenever you update the list on the service. We can also help you get set up with these services, a great way to connect with your customers.

Upgrades – web sites need to be maintained — they can’t just sit abandoned without making your company look bad. We can get your site upgraded and new content added just once or on a regular basis.

Social Media – we can help you get setup and going with Instagram, Untappd, Twitter, and more.

Web Shop — Set up a web shop with your merchandise. You can fulfill or it can be all automated.

Mobile App — looking for a mobile app? We have over a decade of experience with mobile apps and you probably don’t need or want a mobile app. Instead you do want a mobile friendly site. We can help develop both and are happy to discuss the ins and outs and reasons why you’d want one or the other.

Here’s some highlights of our past and current work:

ProBrewer.com — migration of the site to an up to date, more powerful server. Implementation of classified ads system that turned into a new revenue stream. Setup of a robust backup strategy. Social media integration with Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Realbeer.com — one of the first employees of the Real Beer Page, the first beer site on the Internet. Joined Real Beer to help build out the company from the technology site. Helped grow the company from 9 to over 50 people and land clients large and small.

Beer Expedition – this site, now retired, was the first database driven brewery database on the Internet. Launched 1996, believe it or not. After the number of breweries got to be well over 3,000 we had to retire from the maintenance. [Wayback Machine link]

148Apps — Launched in 2008, sold to Pocket Gamer in 2013, this was the first site dedicated exclusively to iPhone mobile apps. Developed a database backend that provided intelligence to consumers and developers about what was going on with mobile apps just as they were exploding. Appeared on BBC News, NY Times, and others discussing mobile apps and games.
