ACT I

SCENE I: A street in Portland, Oregon

(Enter CITIZENS, running and shouting)

CITIZEN 1: Oh, what chaos has befallen our fair city!

CITIZEN 2: Aye, it’s as if the very heavens have opened up and are raining beer upon us!

CITIZEN 3: And not just any beer, but a different style every day! Stout one day, pale ale the next!

CITIZEN 1: We must take shelter, lest we be drowned in a deluge of IPA!

(Enter MAYOR, accompanied by ADVISORS)

MAYOR: Good people of Portland, fear not! We shall find a way to stop this madness!

ADVISOR 1: But how, my lord? The beer shows no sign of stopping.

MAYOR: We must turn to science! Let us send for the wisest brewmasters in the land. They will know how to stem the flow of this beer rain.

(Exit MAYOR and ADVISORS)

CITIZEN 2: But what shall we do in the meantime?

CITIZEN 3: We shall drink, of course! It’s not every day that beer falls from the sky!

(Exeunt CITIZENS, laughing and cheering)

ACT II

SCENE I: The court of the MAYOR

(Enter MAYOR, ADVISORS, and BREWMASTERS)

MAYOR: Welcome, brewmasters. We are at your mercy. Can you help us stop this beer rain?

BREWMASTER 1: It will be a difficult task, my lord. But we shall do our best.

BREWMASTER 2: First, we must discover the source of the beer. Only then can we hope to stop it.

ADVISOR 2: We have heard rumors of a cursed keg, hidden deep within the city’s underground tunnels. Could that be the cause of this chaos?

BREWMASTER 1: It is possible. But we must investigate further to be sure.

(Exit BREWMASTERS and ADVISORS)

ACT III

SCENE I: The underground tunnels

(Enter BREWMASTERS, ADVISORS, and a group of SOLDIERS)

BREWMASTER 2: Be on guard, everyone. We do not know what dangers may lurk in these dark corridors.

(They come upon a large, ancient-looking keg)

BREWMASTER 1: This must be it! The cursed keg!

ADVISOR 3: But how do we stop it?

BREWMASTER 2: Leave that to us. We shall use all of our brewing knowledge to reverse the curse and seal the keg once and for all.

(The BREWMASTERS set to work, using a variety of ingredients and techniques. After much effort, they succeed in breaking the curse and sealing the keg)

BREWMASTER 1: It is done. The beer rain shall cease, and Portland shall be saved.

(Exeunt all, triumphant)

ACT IV

SCENE I: A street in Portland, Oregon

(Enter CITIZENS, rejoicing)

CITIZEN 1: The beer rain has stopped! We are saved!

CITIZEN 2: And just in time, too. I fear I could not have drunk another drop.
